π Knicks Take Commanding 2–0 Lead: Madison Square Garden Erupts
Brunson torches Boston, Knicks stun Celtics again in wild playoff thriller
NEW YORK — The Knicks are making noise, and it’s not just the crowd at Madison Square Garden. With a 113–107 win over the heavily favored Boston Celtics, New York took a shocking 2–0 lead in the Eastern Conference Semifinals. Jalen Brunson’s 38-point masterpiece and a bruising, no-fear defensive stand powered the Knicks past the top seed for the second straight game.
Boston entered the series as title favorites. They’re now heading back to TD Garden in crisis.
Brunson cooked Jrue Holiday and Derrick White all night, scoring at all three levels and showing no hesitation in crunch time. OG Anunoby delivered his best game as a Knick with 22 points and airtight defense on Jayson Tatum, who struggled to find rhythm late.
“It’s not an upset when you believe you’re better,” Brunson said postgame. “We came to win this thing.”
New York out rebounded Boston 47–40 and hit 15 threes, including a dagger from Donte DiVincenzo with 1:14 left to seal the win. The Garden exploded — fans chanting “Boston sucks” before the final buzzer.
Jaylen Brown led the Celtics with 31 points, but Kristaps PorziΕΔ£is left the game midway through the third with a calf strain. His status for Game 3 remains unclear.

The Vibes: Unstoppable. The Knicks haven’t led a series 2–0 since 2013. This time, it feels different — deeper, meaner, more personal.
Next Game: Game 3, Saturday at TD Garden, 8:30 PM ET on ABC.
